Shumaila is an early-career earth observation researcher interested in understanding the dynamics of terrestrial ecosystems. She is experienced in natural resource monitoring, e.g., forest degradation, agricultural analyses, change detection using open-source satellite data, and leveraging cloud computing platforms for large-scale geospatial analyses. She is a doctoral researcher at the University of Hildesheim. In SMALLPAK project she brings expertise in agricultural remote sensing and GIS. Her work focuses on evaluating satellite remote sensing products, leveraging spatial and spectral information for crop health monitoring. She will explore how multi-source Earth observation data can advance precision agriculture, contributing to robust, scalable approaches for vegetation assessment and agricultural decision-support.
