Zahid Ullah is an Environmental and Resource Economist and researcher specializing in climate resilience, agroforestry, rural livelihoods, and sustainable agricultural development in Pakistan. His research focuses on the socio-ecological dynamics of farming systems, indigenous knowledge, climate-smart agriculture, value chains, and disaster economics, particularly in South Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Lower South Waziristan (formerly the Federally Administered Tribal Areas) of Pakistan. He worked with national and international organizations, including the Asian Development Bank, International Water Management Institute, Finnish Consulting Group, Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International, Innovative Development Strategies, National Institute of Banking and Finance, State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, and the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, on research, teaching, and development projects. Currently he is working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan, contributing to the SMALLPAK project. His work focuses on participatory approaches to agroforestry, climate resilience, livestock-crop integration, rural livelihoods, and sustainable rural transformation.
